Occasionally, I will run giveaway's on my social media, it gives people the opportunity to take a hypnobirthing course who may not have considered it otherwise. "I was fortunate to win a hypnobirthing session with Hannah at Christmas and it was brilliant. From initially chatting on Instagram I really got the feeling I was in good hands. We had to do the session via Skype as we are at opposite ends of the country but this didn't impact the experience at all. Hannah is very knowledgeable and after our session I felt empowered to have the birth I wanted. I also did a short breastfeeding session before the birth with her.
On the big day nothing went to plan but with the self belief I had from our session I felt that I was able to own my birth and it really turned out to be a perfect experience. We had Hannah's client MP3s playing for the entire birth, zoning in and out as we pleased. It was comforting to have a familiar voice playing and never felt intrusive.
During the start of my labour in the early hours of the morning I had text Hannah expecting her to get the message and reply in the morning, but much to my surprise I got a reply at 4:30 and she was with me on text until my husband got back to the hospital and things kicked up a knotch.
Since the birth she had been in there for advice and motivation and I now class her as a dear friend not just my midwife. We can't wait till Teddy can be in the car long enough to go and visit!
If Hannah is the future of midwifery then it had a bright and brilliant future.
